Boerne Independent School District is regarded as excellent and has received many accomplishments. The Texas Education Agency rated the district as “RECOGNIZED” in 2008. The test scores are also superior in all areas.
Boerne Middle School South earned the National Blue Ribbon Schools award in October 2008. Only 2 other middle schools in Texas received this award. The school is also noted for its multiple extracurricular activities and high level of parent involvement.
Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary earned the National Blue Ribbon Schools award in 2000. It is also one of the few elementary schools in the state of Texas that received a distinguished 10 out of 10 rating by GreatSchools. Parents gave it an average of 4 out of 5 stars.
In 2003 Boerne High School was recognized as one of the top 150 high schools in the United States. The College Board Advanced Placement statistics aided in this recognition and the AP participation rates and test scores have continued to increase. Boerne High School and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) have a unique academic partnership where high school students can attend college classes on the UTSA campus during the school day. The San Antonio Express News recently named Boerne Hgh School the best in the region. It also has an excellent athletic department.
Champion High School just opened its doors in fall of 2008 and has recently won a state award for the excellence in design and construction. The high school has a large and innovative system to catch rainwater for which it will earn the Governor's Award in May.
