Have you ever thought that it might be neat to design your own home? They have laid out much of the backstory and have discussed their current situation. It seems that they have completely finished the basement of thier current house. Of course, they also do other projects around there like landscaping and deck building. The way they go into detail these past projects is nice.
The big project, though, is their own house building project. So far, we know that they have purchased land to build on. They also did work to clear the land, which is shown in some of their photographs. It looks like a very pretty place, so it will be interesting to follow along and see what comes of it.
I wonder how much time it'll take. something like this could take anywhere from six months to a bunch of years depending on how fast they work. Will it going to be a full-time job or just an after-work project? We don't know yet. Maybe they don't even know yet. If they're really doing all the work on their own, they have yet to do it previously, and they've got "real" jobs to go to each day, it may take a long while complete. In any case, following along with them may turn out to be very interesting.
If educating yourself about building your own house is appealing to you, this website is recommended. They seem like regular individuals that want to try their hand at home building. It's unclear if they will be their own general contractor or if they'll do some of the work themselves and hire a company to oversee the project. Who knows? What is known is that it will be interesting to follow along as they learn how to build house.
